The Online Training Course can be held over a four to six hour period. The first two hours should be used for a review of the Knowledge Base in Part 1. After everyone has had a chance to get familiar with the basics of the Commissioner Service, your group should move on to the discussion scenarios listed above. Any remaining time should be devoted to discussing the questions presented in the scenarios.

Depending on the time you have available the course participants can either discuss the scenarios one at a time or be divided into groups with an assignment to cover three of the six scenarios and report back on their findings to the larger group. Each group should be assigned to cover either Scenarios 1, 3, and 5 or Scenarios 2, 4, and 6. This is important as each of the scenarios has a purpose.

The idea here is that you should be able to take the information from the basics to find answers and solutions. In some cases you will be able to find the answers in this material or referenced BSA literature and from the information provided here. In other cases you may have to stretch a little and look at additional BSA literature.

Depending on your preference you can give each participant a copy of each of the scenarios with the questions or give them a copy with both the questions and answers. My preference as a trainer is to give each participant the questions and after discussion give them the answers.

These discussion scenarios are the heart of the training program. Participants should be encouraged to read each of them very carefully. The language in each scenario was carefully chosen to make the problems as realistic as possible, while giving some hints as to what is known and what participants need to know before they react. However, the idea is for you to chose what will help you the most as a trainer.
